The construction industry is fraught with litigation probably more than other sectors of the economy. PEG has designed this service to assist owners and contractors to protect their interest in the course of construction.
Often issues arise from claims of damage to adjoining installations or properties. Prior to construction, PEG will obtain and review the contract documents to determine potential zone of influence of the proposed construction. PEG’s team will conduct a non destructive survey of potential installations around the construction site to document existing conditions. Property Owners within the influence zone will be notified and requested to permit pre-construction survey of their properties. This exercise will allow mutual resolution of issues arising out of the construction and/or mutual resolution of claims for damages.
Starting from 2008, November 3, the City of Toronto by law 514-2008 requires a Vibration Control Form be completed and submitted with any application for construction Demolition Permit. When construction or demolition involves activities such as blasting, large scale soil compaction, deep foundation etc, additional measures will be required to assure the safety of adjacent properties.
